We have held an ISO9001 quality standard award since 2011, which covers all aspects of the Dove Service policies, training, and service provision. It also covers the procedures in place that relate to our professional standards and training of both staff and volunteers. For example, the Dove Service maintains records to demonstrate that all qualified counsellors complete 30 hours continued professional development (CPD) a year.
The ISO9001 is monitored through site visits, reporting adherence to a procedural manual (updated annually), maintaining training records and a series of quality marks that are regularly checked against each counsellor.
The initial statement issued in 2011 states that:
“It is the policy of the Dove Service to ensure:
- We provide our service users with a high quality service and to meet contractual specifications and requirements. Where applicable, these services will conform to relevant National and International Standards.
- The achievement of long-term viability by providing the highest practical level of service to our service users and stakeholders.
- To continually improve the effectiveness of the quality management system”
