I was so apprehensive about picking the phone up and admitting that I may need support through counselling, it is also the best thing I ever did! I have taken away some very valuable coping strategies that I will use throughout the rest of my life and I feel like a much stronger, independent person. I cannot thank my counsellor and all at the Dove Service enough for helping me through. Their very valuable support and service has made a positive impact on my life. Thank you!!!- Mrs L – Kidsgrove
I came to the Dove Service through a referral due to anxiety and stress caused by my relationship breaking down. I was extremely anxious about the future and what it held. Through the series of sessions i have been able to explore my emotions and unpack the feelings of anxiety that were having a negative impact on my life. I now feel hope for the future understanding that whilst life is uncertain it invariably is not as bad as it may at first seem. I would encourage others to use this service as it has had a very positive impact on my mental health.- Mr C – Blurton
I came because i was unable to get over my dad, grieving, and I had many issues. Seeing the counsellor has 100% helped me to communicate with others and control my fears and worries. I can now cope with life and i am a lot happier. Could not recommend the service enough. Thank You.- Mrs J – Biddulph
Before counselling I was feeling upset. Then as counselling started, I was feeling better each week. Better meaning happier. I enjoyed the 3D writing and play dough activities. There was nothing I didn’t like.- Mrs J – Blythe Bridge
I came to counselling because my mum and dad died of serious illnesses. Counselling has helped me with my feelings and emotions. It has helped me to understand my grief and I have begun grieving. It has helped with my behavioural issues changing them to be more positive and mostly I understand how my behaviour affects others. It has helped me to be more relaxed calmer. If someone was in need of support i would tell them if you need help, go to see the Dove Service. Give it a go! I have been there so i know how it feels!- Mr A – Moreton
I came to the Dove Service because my dad died when I was five and a few years later I understood what it meant that he had died and I got very upset. If I feel unhappy now, my counsellor has taught me different ways to handle my worries. I feel a lot more comfortable after talking about how I feel to somebody. If a child felt the same way I did, I would tell them to tell their parents to contact the Dove Service for support.- Mr B – Meir Hay
